I’m now done with page one of A Bouquet for Cheryl. Have put it aside to do a project for my mom as mother’s day is not that far away & since I have no money for a gift I figured I would stitch her something. I will post photos of that soon.
Just something funI posed this question to my Stitchingbloggers yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stitchingbloggers/
& Now I would like to post it here as well.
What made you name your blog what you named it? For mine it was a love of stitching Teddy Bears and collecting them so that made me think of Tea parties that little girls have with their Teddy bears. Sound kind of silly I know.
So far I have gotten responses from Donna: http://daisygirlstitching.blogspot.com/ Terveisin Mia: http://miamaria.vuodatus.net/ Monique: http://www.mymarkdesigns.wordpress.com/ Jeanne: http://juststring.blogspot.com/ Cheryl T: http://bezzachezza.blogspot.com/ Jamie: http://mainelystitching.wordpress.com/ Carolyn: http://www.takingonestitchatatime.blogspot.com/ Barb: http://www.mystitchingtreasures.blogspot.com/ I really have enjoyed reading their answers to my question & now I'm sure I will enjoy your's as well. Thanks to all of you!!!Labels: A Bouquet for Cheryl, Mis |
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY !!!! 2:35 PM |

I named my blog The Twisted Stitcher, well because I'm an 80's girl, and I really liked the group Twisted Sister and when I was thinking about starting up a blog....well it just came to me The twisted stitcher...I'm funny and lighthearted all the time and my friends always say.."Your twisted" because I try to always find the bright side of things...so it just came to me "the Twisted Stitcher"! LOL!

Forgot to mention...your WIP is looking just stunning and I'm being sincere! You've done a lot of work on it!

Lovely progress on Cheryl's Bouquet, Dawn! I love your colours... :-)
As for naming my blog... Oh, I didn't have a clue what to call it! Finally came up with A Stitching Faery's Haven... I chose that 'cause I have always loved anything fantasy... and folks always tell me I'm *away with the faeries*... So, I have used stitching faery as my email addy for a few years now... and Stitching is my Haven from Life's Storms... Thus A Stitching Faery's Haven...
Sometimes I think it may be a rather silly name for a blog... and have thought of changing it... but I just don't know...
And I don't think your reason for choosing your name for your blog is silly at all, Dawn... I think it's touching and close to your heart so that makes it special! :-)
Cheryl's Bouquet is looking so lovely! :-)

Love the progress with Cheryl's Bouquet. It's really pretty. Just a little note - no biggie - but you have my name with Barbara's blog. :)

The bouquet is looking wonderful. As for my blog its named so because I love to sit at home a stitch.
-
I chose my blg name - The Stitching Hour - after being stupid and corny, saying to my husband "It's the stitching hour" as I would be getting ready to sit and stitch. Hokey, I know...but I like it. :-)

Cheryl's bouquet is looking great! I love the colours you have chosen

Deciding on the name for my blog was easy. 2 of my 3 favorite things are Cross Stitching and Music (the third is reading) so I knew I had to put them together in my blog though no one but, me can probably see the music connection in my blog name.
There was a punk band from England in the late 70's and early 80's called Generation X (Billy Idol was in this band) that I liked when I was growing up. They use to call themselves GenX. When ever I'd hear the name I'd alwasy think of myself and see in my head it written as JennX....Soooooo... when it was time for me to name my blog I just changed GenX to JennX and added the Stitch to it.

Dawn, your blog name is not silly, its rather sweet.
Initially, I wanted to name my blog white calla, one of my fav flowers which may also be known as lillie (need not explain there)LOL (It got rejected by blogger). So came the current choice: I am no master of any one craft, just someone who seems to be doing somthing crafty here and there and So you see me doing a little bit of everything craft related thus, a little crafter.

Cheryl's bouquet is looking great, love the colors you chose.
As to the name of my blog, with 3 cats and 2 dogs (and now my DD's cat and 2 gecko's staying with me), as well as my favorite pasttime of stitching, Stitching and Life in the Company of Pets just seemed appropriate. Sue

I love the colors you're using for Cheryl's design.
I named my blog because I'm originally from Maine (now in the Netherlands) and puns crack me up - the blog is mainly about stitching, but also about my kids and other life stuff. ;)
-
I use my maternal grandmother's name. There are stitching blogs already which use my first and middle names!
And... stitches of life came to me all of a sudden. I made sure nobody else had that name & typed it in.
Love your bouquet!
