I started a tradition years ago when my oldest sister gave my boy’s a big stuffed Teddy Bear upon their birth. I give all the newborn baby’s in the family a Teddy Bear. My nice whom is 17-18 just lost her first child a few month’s ago & I decided to do this one for her. This baby is gone from this earth so, thought I would do something different this time. Something I hope she will treasure. That’s why I’m doing this cross-stitch for her. Watch this blog, as it will have updated photos every week. I have to give credit to EMS for this freebie design. Thanks to her.

Taddy Ted #1 Finished

Ok!! Here he is all done but not framed or anything yet. Still do not know exactly what I will be doing with him. For now he will just go into my finished pile. I was inspired by the story of this little bear and thought of it every time I stitched on him. http://www.metoyou.com/ I would like to do more in this series but for right now I'm going to do one called Mr. Hugs Mender of broken Hearts This is an EMS freebie.

Mail art Story
ROTFL Mail art story ROTFL

Saturday I take the boy’s to the post office to mail off mom’s envelope. We wait in line for about 5 minutes. We get up to the teller and i tell her that I need to mail this and I need a book of stamps as well.
Teller : OK , It will be 52 cent’s to mail this envelope
Dawn: OK let’s put the stamps on and you cancel them then I will put it in the plastic bag .
Teller : Hold on a minute
Dawn : OK
The teller goes around the corner and comes back.
Teller : You put the stamps here and then put it in the bag so I can cancel the stamps.
Dawn : No, I’ll put the stamps on and then you cancel them then we will put it in the bag.
Teller : Hold on a minute
Teller goes around the corner and comes back
Teller : are you shure you want me to stamp your envelope right on the fabric ? I do not want to mess up your beautiful work.
Dawn : Yes !!!! That is exactly what I want you to do. That is all part of the art work.
With a funny look on her face she agrees and stamps the fabric.
Mom Called me last night ( March - 7 - 2006 ) at about 8 p.m. to tell me she got the card and Thanks and that she loved it.

If you do not see the humer in this I'm soooooo sorry but it was sooooooo funny.
Dawn

Here is the envelope I mailed to my mom.

Stitching Devil done

He is done and now I just need to figure out how to frame and hang. I want to put this adorable little guy on my computer/ craft room door. He was an easy one to do up and he only took 6 day’s to complete. I did him on a navy blue background and outlined the wings in silver to make them pop. I only messed up one time & that was one stitch somewhere in the middle. This through the scissors off but I’m still happy with it.
For a better look you can go to http://community.webshots.com/user/dawnmb34

Hope you all like it,
Dawn

Second finish of 2006

Ok Here is Santa. Finished him yesterday at about 6 pm. I will make him into an ornament for Christmas of 2006. He turned out to be fairly easy but , next time I do something with so much white I think I’ll choose a darker background.

Next project is the EMS Little stitch devil with scissors.
I’ve got all the colors ready to go for this project now just need to get the fabric ready. I will use 14 count Adia cloth and I’m thinking about blue ( Dark or light ? ).

Till next time :
Dawn

First finish of 2006

Here it is my first finish of 2006. Finished with the stitching on Jan.-8-2006 at about 6 pm my time. I'm so happy to be done with this. Still have to frame it and get it to the kids. Maybe I'll work on it today.
Now I'm gonna finish a Santa I was working on before I started this. No photo of that one yet as there is to much white so you can not see the progress very well.
Till next time i'll leave you with this thought :
Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church.
