Ready Santa / Thread separators
Thursday, January 31, 2008
Think I started this on Monday 1-28-07. I had started on another calico Crossroads one but messed up and had a migraine so I set that aside for now. Here is my progress on another San Man Original called Ready Santa. That's what I'm calling it any ways cause the pattern doesn't have a name on it. His nose is great just stitched up but I decided to add a button just to give him my own little spin.

I have been thinking about these Thread separators for about a week now. This morning on the group CSF there was a post and it had a link to some of these. Well that's what gave me the design idea for these. Couldn't get a good photo of the one I made for myself and now it's outside drying so maybe later I can get one.Let me just say that they work like a champ. You just clip it to the end of the strand of floss and pick up loss end and separate your stands of floss. Hope that makes scene to you all. I'm not very good with the words.

First Pin Keep
Saturday, January 26, 2008
Wow !! It's amazing what you can do with a little instruction and motivation. My ILCS group had a class on making a Pin Keep. Very good instructions and the video helped too.Class was given by Debra in Indiana (Zanymany) and here is a link to the videos part.http://www.youtube.com/groups_videos?name=ILCS
For mine I used a piece I did as a SAL with CSF group and the back fabric & Ribbon trim was from a group exchange. Funny how three things gathered at different times come together so well. So, without further ado here are the results of mine.

This was so easy and fun to do I defiantly see more of these in the future. Thank you Debra for the class and instructions.

Reflecting
Tuesday, January 22, 2008

I will not embarrass my boy by putting his photo online but just wanted to reflect on 16 years ago. It was late at night and my water broke at home. It soaked the bed and I changed uderware 5 times before my x said we have to go now !!!! Got to the hospital and things were fine. Then all of a sudden the heart beat stoped. They rushed me in for a c-section and said he had very little chance of making it.The Doc said he had a 50/50 chance of reaching the age 2.Well turns out he was laying on 6 inches of the umbilical cord. Look here you crazy doctors my guy is 16 today.

First finsih of 2008
Sunday, January 13, 2008
My I present to my first finish of 2008 & my version of
SanMan Originals: Magic Hat

I hand dyed the fabric a dark blue and when I ironed it to set the paint it left little white lines. I left them as they added a little something to the fabric that way. I used the glass seed beads for the falling snow. I used one of them silky DMC flosses for the snow flakes. I don't know yet how I will finish it but one of my groups is doing a class on pinkeeps so maybe that's what it will turn into.
This was a freebie to SanMan Originals groupies and if you are not a member I highly recommend you become one. Now I have moved onto my first Halloween project of 2008

My progress as of today. Started this at about 2 pm on Saturday so this is two days work. This was a freebie and called Halloween Game Board. Don't think I'll be finishing this one any time soon. It's about 10 pages and 200 X 200 also being done on 14 count white Aida
Wanted to show you Mom's B-day gift though it's not quit done yet. Still have the back stitching to do and figure out what I wanna make with it. Most likely I will just frame it so she can hang it in her new house.Thank you Barb for the pattern. Mom will love it.
